The Roane County Board of Education’s current testing programs policy doesn’t mention students transferring from a church-related school, private school or home school. An update to the policy does mention those students under the “testing for grade placement or awarding credit” section.
“Students transferring from a Category IV church-related school, Category V private school, or home school shall be awarded credit upon completion of a written exam,” the policy states. “These exams shall be approved, administered, and graded by the school’s principal/designee. Upon request from a parent/guardian, student scores from a nationally standardized achievement test in the relevant subject shall be accepted as a substitute for these exams.”
